Bug Season is made by Fluveon LLC. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no server. Almost nothing leaves your phone, and this page says precisely what does.
The places you save, the habitat you set for each of them, and every forecast the app produces are stored on your device only. They are never transmitted to us and we cannot see them. Deleting the app deletes them.
If you tap Use my location, the app asks iOS for a single location fix, uses it to work out coordinates for a forecast, and stops. It is deliberately requested at reduced precision (roughly 100 metres), because the underlying climate data is interpolated from weather stations tens of kilometres apart and anything finer would be false precision.
There is no background location mode, no monitoring and no location history. The coordinates are stored on your device only if you choose to save that place. They are never sent to us.
If you type a place name into the search box, that text is sent to Apple Maps to look up where it is, and is handled under Apple’s privacy policy. We neither receive nor store it. This is the only network request the app makes; the forecast itself is computed entirely on your device.
No advertising identifiers. No third-party analytics or trackers. No data brokers. No profiles. Nothing is shared with anyone, because there is nothing collected to share.
Bug Season is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete on request. Everything the app stores is on your device and under your control. If you would like confirmation of that in writing, ask via the link below.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and material changes will be noted in the app’s release notes.
Questions about this policy go through the form on the Bug Season support page, which reaches Fluveon LLC directly.
